English Patterns.

* be used to (doing / something) = It's not strange / new for me

When I got my first job 14 years ago, it was far from my place and it took about one and half hours.

So I had to get up much earlier time than before. I found this difficult because I wan't used to getting up so early.

* used to do something = I did something regularly in the past but no longer do it.

I used to drive to work everyday, but these days I usually take a subway.

We used to live with big family, but now I live in alone. I doesn't mind this. because I have lived alone for 5 years. I'm used to it.


* There's no point in ~ing: ~할 필요가 없다.

There's no point in having a car if you never use it.

These's no point in waiting any longer, so we left. 

* There's no use ~ing / It's no use ~ing: 

 It's no good ~ing: ~해도 소용이 없다.

There's nothing you can do about the situation, so there's no use worrying about it.

It's no good trying to persuade me. You won't succeed.

* What was the movie like? Was it worth seeing?

* I don't think newspaper are worth reading.

* Have difficult / trouble (in) ~ing: ~하는데 어려움을 겪다

- Did you have any trouble getting a visa?

- People often have great trouble reading my writing.

- I had difficult finding a place to live.

* Go ~ing: go + activities

- I'd like to go swimming. 

- When was the last time you went shopping?

- I've never gone sailing.

* a waste of time / money ~ing

- That book was trash. It was a waste of time reading it. It was a waste of time to read it.

- It's a waste of money buying things you don't need.

- He spent hours trying to repair the clock.

- I waste a lot of time daydreaming.

- It's a waste of time to wait any longer. 더이상 기다리는 것은 시간 낭비야

- It'll only be a waste of time. 시간만 낭비할꺼야.

- That's just a waste of water. 물만 낭비하는 거야.

It's nice of you (to say so) -> 정말 감사합니다.
I'm in trouble. -> 곤경에 처해있어요.

* 저는 ~하로 여기 왔습니다. I'm here to ~~
Q) What brings to here? (머하로 왔습니까?)
I'm here to study English.
I'm here to buy some fruits.
I'm here to swim, work out.
I'm here to have a drink.

* I can't stop/help~ ing: ~ 하고 싶습니다.
I can't help going aboard.
I can't help falling in love with you.
I can't help eating out.
I can't help taking a shower.
I can't help learning English.
