Enough의 위치는 동사, 부사 뒤 및 명사 앞
He didn't get the job because he wan't experienced enough.
= He didn't get the job because he didn't have enough experience.
= He wasn't experienced enough for the job.
= He wasn't experienced enough to do the job.
- 명사 앞
: Do you have enough money? I can lend you some if you don't.
(=I'll lend you some if you don't have enough)
: Some of us had to sit the floor because there weren't enough chairs.
- 부사 앞
You won't pass the exam if you don't study hard enough
They can get married. They're old enough.
-> She's not old enough to get married.(= She is too young to get married)
* too hard, too old(ex: you never stop working. you work too hard)
cf) too much / too many
- We can't take a vacation. It costs too much(money)
- There are too many people and not enough chairs. (= There weren't enough chairs for everyone to sit down).
- Too ~ to: 너무 ~해서 ... 할 수 없다.
: The food was very hot. We couldn't eat it.
The food was so hot that we couldn't eat it.
The food was too hot to eat(without it).
: The wallet was too big to put in my pocket.
: These boxes are too heavy to carry.
: The water wan't clean enough to swim in.
- enough / too ... for somebody/something~
: I have enough money for a vacation, but I don't have enough time.
: This shirt is too big for me. I need a smaller one.
: Do you have enough money to take a vacation right now?
: Let's get a taxi. It's too far to walk home from here.'
: They spoke too quickly for us to understand.
Three people can't sit on this sofa. It isn't wide enough.
=> This sofa is too wide for three people to sit on.
You can't see some things without a microscope. They are too small.
=> Some thing are too small to see without a microscope.
We couldn't climb over the wall. It was too high.
=> The wall was too high to climb.
I can't explain the situation. It is too complicated.
=> The situation is too complicated to explain.
